Eventbrite - ASN150 - Celebrating 150 Years of The American Naturalist

To ensure that you secure a space, please register as soon after 1 August 2017 as possible. You must register for meals & lodging separately. Please follow the instructions on the Food & Lodging page in the menu above to register for room and meals.

If you wish to give a contributed paper, a lightning talk, or a poster, please prepare in advance a title (≤25 words), an abstract (≤150-words), and up to 6 key words. You will be asked to enter these with your registration.

Conference registration rates will be as follows (if you are not currently an ASN member, but would like to be so that you qualify for the reduced registration rates, you can join here):

ASN Member ASN Non-member
Student $200* $250
Postdoc $260* $310
Faculty $390 $450

*The American Society of Naturalists is contributed substantial funds to reduce the cost of conference attendance for students who are ASN members. The ASN will also be awarding a number of travel grants to reduce costs for a number of students and postdocs. If you would like to be eligible for receiving a travel grant, please identify your interest on the registration form.

The registration fee covers conference attendance. These fees pay for essential conference services including projectors, room rentals, food and drink for morning and afternoon coffee breaks and evening events. The amounts of these fees were set so that the ASN will break even financially. Any net income will be used for student travel grants to future conferences. In addition to these registration fees, there is a small additional fee to cover the cost of credit card payments.

Food & Lodging

You must register for lodging and meals separately through the special Asilomar portal that has been established for the ASN150 Meeting. The link for registering for lodging and meals can be found on the Food & Lodging page in the menu above. Lodging costs include breakfast, lunch and dinner on full days attendance plus dinner the day you arrive and breakfast an dlunch the day you leave, taxes, fees, and a state park use fee. The lodging form includes the option to request a specific roommate (who must register for lodging within 5 days of you), or to request that Asilomar find a roommate match for you.

Attendees who wish to bring guests are welcome to do so. If the guests will attend scientific talks and partake of the coffee breaks, they must be registered conference attendees. However, if guests are simply staying in the Asilomar lodge with the ASN attendee and attending meals, there is no need for them to register with ASN. In either case, the guests should be included in the housing registration form sent to Asilomar.

If you must cancel your conference registration, please contact the conference organizer by 1 December 2017 to receive a refund (minus a $50 processing fee). Cancellation refunds will be issued shortly after the conference ends in mid-January 2018. If you must cancel on shorter notice, please also notify the conference organizer so that another can be included from the wait list. For cancellations after 1 December 2017, refunds cannot be issued unless the spot is filled by another attendee. Cancellation and refunds for lodging and meals registration must be done separately, and the guidelines can be found at the Food & Lodging page.

Cancellations of lodging and meals reservations must be made directly with the Asilomar Conference Grounds and are subject to their policies and procedures.
